Q: What is a Stargazer Ceiling?

A: A Stargazer Ceiling is an accurate, realistic depiction of a starry night sky on your ceiling. It creates the illusion that your ceiling has vanished, leaving you sleeping beneath a canopy of stars.

Q: Can this be painted on any type of ceiling?

A: Stargazer Ceilings can be created on most surfaces, including Artex and wallpaper; it will not interfere with your present decor. A Stargazer Ceiling cannot be applied to polystyrene tiles as the paint dissolves the tiles!

Q: Will I see all the major constellations?

A: Yes. The ceiling has its educational side too!

Q: Can I have just a small section of my ceiling or wall with a Stargazer effect?

A: Yes. We can design and produce to your own specification, from a small porthole or window to a whole room.

Q: Will I have to paint my ceiling black?

A: No. The virtually invisible illusion is used on your existing ceiling. In fact, the lighter the existing ceiling paint the better the effect.

Q: When does it start glowing?

A: As soon as the lights are turned off, the curtains are closed and provided the room has had an opportunity to “charge up”. The darker the room the better the effect

Q: Can you see the effect during the day time?

A: Your Stargazer Ceiling will be virtually invisible during the daytime. On close inspection you may notice parts of the effect as the paint used has a slight yellowish tint.

Q: Is the paint completely safe and non-toxic?

A: Yes. Unlike some of the older types of luminous paints this new technology paint is 100% safe and also 10 times more effective and longer lasting than any earlier paint.

Q: How long does the paint glow for?

A: Your Stargazer Ceiling will glow for up to 10-12 hours after the lights are off. This may vary slightly, depending on the amount of light it got to “charge-up” during the day. The paint itself will continue to glow for a minimum of 10 years

Q: Does the paint ever stop re-charging itself?

A: No, it will continue to re-charge indefinitely as long as it has light (daylight or electric).

Q: Do you use stick on stars ?

A: No, we paint accurate constellations directly onto the ceiling with the best quality glow paint available. If you have the image of stick on stars in your mind then your Stargazer Ceiling will by far surpass your expectations, you had best prepare yourself to be amazed!

Q: Is it just for kids?

A: No, in fact we find many adults are at least as excited by this than the children! We’ve often had to go back to do Mum and Dad’s room too!

Q: Will I have to remove furniture and other items from the room prior to my Stargazer Ceiling being created?

A: As we work in almost total darkness it helpful if the room is as clear as possible. Dust sheets are used to cover any furniture and floor coverings. It is advisable to remove any valuables and/or breakables just to be on the safe side.

Q: How long will it take to do ?

A: Depending on the size of the room it may take between 2 to 4 hours and can be done any time of the day, during the week or weekend, whenever is most convenient to you

Q: Can I do the job myself?

A: Without the specialist equipment and expertise it would be virtually impossible to recreate the night sky on your ceiling.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: It all depends upon the room size and height. Prices start at £138 – see the price list for details.

Q: Do you cover the whole of the UK?

A: We are based in the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire area and we cover an area within a two hour drive. Charges are made to cover travel costs. Contact us to discuss and schedule a time to suit you.

Q: Can I re-decorate the room?

A: We would recommend you have any decorating done before having a Stargazer Ceiling to ensure you get the best effect. But hey, isn’t this the best excuse for not painting the ceiling for years?!!

Q: What if I no longer want my Stargazer Ceiling?

A: A coat or two of good quality paint over your ceiling will cover the stars up
completely.
